Review: Red Knot – Shiraz (2015)
Tasting Notes
So a review request by Ashneeta for this bargain basement red.
At $9.50 I didn't have high hopes for this one but putting aside any wine snobbiness.... here we go!
A; Blackcurrant and plum with a lot of oakiness. Not subtle
T: Actually starts on a savoury note and much less sweet than I anticipated. Pepper and blackcurrant with a bit of strawberry. It then disappears very quickly after the initial taste. Some apricot in the mix... some viognier blended in?
Not terrible but not good.
Drink with more interesting people and strong tasting food. A BBQ wine which is meant to disappear in the background.
The awkward cousin at family gatherings who you can't fault for any real reason but can't stand when he opens his mouth.
But if he stays in the corner you're perfectly happy.
