Don't see too many Fume Blancs around and actually I had to look this up as to what it was. I had assumed that this was a 'smoked' wine due to the 'fume' however
Fumé" literally translates to "smoke," but this has nothing to do with a "smoky" flavor in the wine. "Although smokiness can come from aging in oak barrels, Fumé Blanc is simply an approved synonym for Sauvignon Blanc and smokiness is not a characteristic of this style"
A: Fresh clean. Oaked and confusing not to get chard aromas
T: More rounded than the usual sauv. Melon and citrus with a subtle grassiness on the mid but backed up by a (surprisingly) oaky backbone in the back. Finishes very light and clean
A dextrous touch. The last flair on a letter of a calligraphy stroke
