Review: Rockford – Hand Picked Eden Valley Riesling (2012)

Hand Picked Eden Valley from Rockford Wines

The Wine Review:

The wine is golden yellow in colour. Being an aromatic varietal I was expecting somewhat more from the nose. That said, it still has a pleasant lime fruit nose with hints of straw and slate. On the palate it’s definitely on the dryer end of the scale and a bit acidic. Crisp lime, lemon, and honeydew in flavours. Being a bit acidic and short on length, it might be OK when consumed on a hot summer day. I’ve been spoiled by some great German rieslings lately and this, unfortunately, pales in comparison even for the lowish price.
